The weekend dashed by - where does the time go?
It was my brother's birthday on Saturday, so we popped by his house in the evening. He & his fiance were having a few friends over. He's converted his garage into a hang-out area - fridge full of beer, dart board, music. A bunch of his buddies came over - I swear, it was like being back in England! Poor B was the only American there! Had some cake & a couple of brews. I had a stinking headache so I took it easy and ended up being the designated driver.
On Sunday, it was Jillie's birthday (so many January birthdays). To start the day off well, we had planned a birthday hike. 4 of us got  together and had a great hike at the Laguna Canyon Wilderness Park. Such a beautiful clear day - sunny & warm. Hiked and gossiped - it was perfect. When we reached the top, I had brought some mini cupcakes & a candle for the birthday girl.
I'm not feeling too motivated to write at the moment...I'll continue later.

Ok, I'm back - cup of tea in hand.
I really wanted to use this blog to put on new knitting patterns and show off some of my finished projects, but there's been so much going on and work takes up too much of my day. I will make an effort to completed my projects & photograph them as I go. I am going to start bringing my knitting in to work and using my lunch break to get some of these outstanding projects finished. I have a horrible habit of finishing one sock and then not wanting to do the second one. I now have 3 single socks without partners! I am halfway through a hat (using Patons SWS - love this yarn) - I will finish that one this evening. I started a really cute cardigan, too.
OK, this is the order that I must finish these projects:
1. Patons SWS hat (for me)
2. Thick blue socks (for B) - One finished, one to go..
3. OnLine Linie Orange/Yellow socks (for me) - One finished, one to go..
4. Black alpaca cardigan (for me) - Halfway through back, that's all so far.
5. Fabel stripey socks (for me) - Only started the rib on sock #1.
6. Blanket (for Paula's new house) - Ongoing project - about 4" so far.

I am not allowing myself to buy any new yarn until I have got through these projects. I really want to make some cute sleeveless tops in cotton this year for the summer, so I have to finish this stuff first.
Discipline, girl, discipline!
