I know it's winter, but we are in Southern California after all. I just don't remember it staying this cold in previous years. Boots & sweaters to the office everyday - bizarre! This was one of my main reasons for leaving England. Maybe I'm acclimatized now and have to move even further South - maybe Hawaii. Mmmm, that sounds good. I'm just happier in flip-flops.
I got started on a hat last night. I know I have other projects to finish, but hats are so quick and adorable. This one isn't for anyone in particular - in fact, I may just keep it for myself (amongst all of the others) or it may call out someone's name when it's complete! The blanket for my friends out in Joshua Tree is coming along nicely. Almost finished. It's just a basic garter stitch back & forth on a large circular needle - using up all of my half balls of yarn in stripes. It's a beautiful mix of colours and textures - they are going to love it. I made one as an experiment a couple of years ago and we use it all the time - it's the warmest, coziest blanket we have. (And it's the best way to get rid of all of those odd leftover bits of yarn).
